FOUR OF WANDS, SIX OF PENTACLES & THE SUN
On Friday Mercury moves into Taurus, encouraging all of us to think in more grounded and practical terms. We’re not so open to new ways of thinking as we are the ideas that have already been proven to work. There’s also something to be said for having hard evidence in the form of something that you can touch, feel, or see, before drawing any conclusions.
Conservative thinking does not slow down our readiness to make new acquaintances. Venus enters Gemini on Sunday. We are feeling driven to put ourselves out there and meet many different kinds of people. Keep it lighthearted and fun, and stay out of heavy emotional drama.
With the weekend transits in mind, I asked Tarot, “How can we guard against thinking that is overly rigid and dogmatic, especially when we’re mingling with folks we just met?”
In the FOUR OF WANDS we see two people standing behind the huppah. One wears blue while the other wears red, symbolizing the different viewpoints from which they hail. Behind them, people wearing all kinds of colors are having a good time. Getting along doesn’t mean we need to agree on everything. It means we respect someone else enough to allow them to be an independent thinker.
The SIX OF PENTACLES reminds us that life is a matter of give and take. We dispense information that we are knowledgeable in, and we receive information when we don’t know enough. Sometimes we forget that conversation is not about winning or losing, its about having an exchange of ideas.
THE SUN reminds us that life isn’t worth living if it isn’t enjoyable. Unless you have a stronghold on Truth with a capital “T,” lighten up. It’s not necessary to take yourself so seriously. And if you’re not enjoying the conversation, then don’t have it. There’s plenty of people to talk to in this world. Move on to those who float your boat.
