Mars in Gemini trine Jupiter in Libra

SIX OF PENTACLES, THREE OF PENTACLES & THE HANGED MAN

With Mars trine Jupiter our efforts yield good things that bring blessings and opportunities for expansion. And the cards suggest that we can maximize those opportunities by practicing generosity. What do you need? What can you give?

Opportunities – SIX OF PENTACLES

Because the human ego is concerned with self-preservation, we feel a need to stockpile things like money, clothes, cards, and even food. And when we accumulate more than we can use, we call ourselves “rich.” But is it really necessary to have so many things? Animals generally don’t collect like we do, and they manage to survive just fine. The Six of Pentacles reminds us that stuff is meant to be used, and there is only so much stuff that we can use at once. Figure out what you really “need,” and re-home everything else. A little generosity goes a long way.

Warning – THREE OF PENTACLES

A man is hard at work with his back turned towards the people in the Six of Pentacles. He’s getting things done, but he’s oblivious to the idea of giving and receiving. Think about how much more he could get done if he accepted some help. No man is an island. Don’t fall into the trap of thinking that you can handle everything on your own. When you step up to help someone today, tomorrow someone else will do the same for you.

Advice – THE HANGED MAN

The Hanged Man’s strength is his ability to see the world as no one else does. Viewing it from his 180 degree angle, he sees what others don’t. It may seem like a waste to give away things that you have worked so hard to earn. But isn’t it also a waste when something never sees the light of day because it’s been sitting in the back of your closet for the past five years? Reconsider your relationship to the material world, viewing it from the perspective of someone who has nothing.

Weekend Tarot Reading for May 5-7, 2017

By: VICTORIA WILSON on MAY 5, 2017

Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot

THE MOON, SIX OF PENTACLES & NINE OF CUPS

The prevalence of yin energy in this weekend’s cards suggest that we are taking things off our plates to slow down and relax. The focus is on what is happening within. It’s a good weekend to stay in rather than engage the outside world.

Opportunities – THE MOON

A jackal and a dog howl at the full moon. One is a wild animal and the other is domesticated, but they both react the same way. Two towers loom in the background, reminding us that the personas we don in civilized society are social constructions. What lies beneath are emotions that are raw, animalistic, and sometimes frightening. But they are real. Until we we see them for what they are we move through life with little understanding of who we are and why certain things happen to us. This weekend brings an opportunity to peer behind the veil and dive deep into the waters of our subconscious minds.Take some time for meditation or ritual, make a date with your therapist, or perhaps pull some cards for yourself.

Warning – SIX OF PENTACLES

Adjacent to The Moon, the Six of Pentacles reminds us that who and what we attract is a mirror reflection of our inner resonance. Everyone in this card is in a mutually beneficial relationship – the people in need are drawn to the wealthy man because he gives them material sustenance, and the wealthy man is drawn to the opportunity to give. Everything to which we are drawn reflects a subconscious need within us. If there are patterns that don’t please you or take you away from your goals ask yourself, “What is it within me that co-creates these situations?”

Advice – NINE OF CUPS

Internal energy shifts when we make a conscious effort to be grateful for what we have. Take a minute to note your accomplishments over the past week and give yourself a pat on the back for a job well done. When we focus on the positives, the negatives become easier to deal with.

Weekend Tarot Reading for April 28-30, 2017

By: VICTORIA WILSON on APRIL 28, 2017

Rider-Waite-Smith Tarot

Venus enters Aries; Uranus conjunct Mercury in Aries

Think outside the box to adopt ideas that we never before considered. “There’s got to be a better way of doing things,” is the dominant attitude, as the status quo doesn’t seem to be working out anymore. We’re approaching matters of love, money, and self-worth with honesty and a sense of adventure. This is a good time to inject some excitement into your love life. There’s a sense of “child’s play” when it comes to the things we value. But there are also feelings of always having to put individual desires on the back burner. We can now make up for that by being courageous enough to break out of routines and try out new things.

With this in mind, I pulled Tarot cards for opportunities, warnings, and advice.

Opportunities – TWO OF CUPS

Feeling lonely? This is a good time to strike up new relationships and friendships. Energies are running high to attract like-minded people with whom we can share our most valued pleasures. Relationships are important because they help us manifest our highest selves. Don’t underestimate the power of human connection to heal your existing ego wounds.

Warnings – FOUR OF CUPS

The opportunity is there for the taking, but if you are unwilling to look and see, that ship will sail on. Sometimes we get too comfortable staying in a situation that isn’t necessarily bad for us, but it isn’t good either. Don’t you want to strive for something better? Jump starting yourself to get motivated may prove difficult, but in the end it will be worth it.

Advice – THE SUN

True bliss is found when we learn to put our worries aside so that we can see the beauty that exists all around us. The man in the Four of Cups sits with his back to The Sun. Perhaps he’s feeling risk averse because he doesn’t see the good that would come of it. The Sun is a cue to make decisions from an optimistic place. Focus on the potential benefits rather than the pitfalls.

Weekend Tarot Reading for April 21-23, 2017

By: VICTORIA WILSON on APRIL 21, 2017

Prisma Visions Tarot

Mars enters Gemini; Venus square Saturn

FIVE OF CHALICES, ACE OF PENTACLES & FOUR OF PENTACLES

We are feeling the need assess our relationships for their serious intent and long term durability. Relationships that aren’t standing on solid ground or that you don’t see any potential in may suddenly dissipate. But this energy will only take away what is not meant to be. Mars in Gemini brings fightin’ words. We are feeling more verbally confrontational than usual, so be mindful of what comes out of your mouth.

I asked Tarot, “How can we best avoid taking actions that we’ll later regret?”

Water and Earth cards suggests that our emotions impact our material circumstances. Venus square Saturn can suggest that we are feeling stingy with love and money, perhaps because we don’t feel as if we have much to give. That’s what the FOUR OF PENTACLES confirms. In this card we see a man holding on tightly to his coins, grasping particularly hard onto one that he holds over his heart.

Mirroring the Four of Pentacles, the FIVE OF CUPS suggests protection from an emotional loss. Sometimes the knee-jerk reaction to losing something is avoidance of all new emotional connections. To love means making yourself vulnerable to getting hurt, and when we’ve hurt so bad we do what we can to prevent it from happening again. The heart needs time to heal, but don’t allow the past to keep you from moving into the future. Focus on what’s ahead, rather than what is behind us.

The ACE OF PENTACLES signals the potential to materialize something tangible should we choose to open our hearts. As the wooden door opens, golden fairy dust spills through the garden wall. This card represents the magic that can happen when we shift our focus towards the possibilities rather than the limitations. Don’t focus on what you’ll never get back, but on what you are fully capable of getting in the future. Let down your guard a little. Explore the unknown.
